Everything You Need To Know About Schüco European Windows

As a building professional, it’s your job to keep up-to-date with innovations in the industry. One area of innovation? The entrance of modern, European windows and doors into the American market.

When it comes to modern European building solutions, there are a few brands that every building and construction professional needs to know.

Meet Schüco, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of window, door, and glass curtain wall systems. When American builders and architects think of Schüco, they should think of high-end PVC and aluminum windows and doors at an accessible price point.

With $1.7B in revenue and 4,700 employees (both 2017), Schüco is already an industry heavyweight. But it’s Schüco’s extensive network of fabricators and partners which makes their market impact in Europe so significant. The company relies on close collaboration with its fabricators, who manufacture its products according to Schüco specifications, using Schüco machines and IT tools.

As a builder, architect, or general contractor in the US, you can trust Schüco’s products and expertise. They’re one of the top window and door companies in Europe.

Headquartered in Bielefeld, Germany, Schüco specializes in the development of system solutions. More specifically:

  • Window and door systems form the core of their portfolio. These windows and doors are available in PVC, aluminum-clad PVC, and full aluminum.

  • Schüco also offers aluminium curtain wall systems for residential and commercial applications.

  • Sun shading, ventilation, and building automation systems complete the lineup.

(All of these solutions are available in the US through Bauwerk Building Solutions, but we’ll talk more about that later.)

In a crowded market - with more than 40 successful window companies in Europe - Schüco continues to stand out. Here are a few reasons why:

  • Schüco offers premium design and technical capabilities.

  • Schüco also focuses on consultation, services, and tools for their partners. For example, architects can rely on consultation services and excellent support throughout the design and building process.

  • Schüco also supports the entire digital workflow, and their digital planning tools enable easier integration between design and fabrication. Plus, their database of BIM, AutoCAD, and Revit files makes it easy to incorporate Schüco products into architectural plans.

  • Large and complex projects can rely on installation planning support from Schüco expert teams.

For the US market, the Schüco window and door product line-up offers plenty of attractive options. Here are two that we recommend:

Schüco CT 70 Products

In the PVC segment, the Schüco Corona CT 70 system provides modern design, high quality, and excellent thermal efficiency at a very competitive price. As with all the other Schüco systems, the CT 70 series offers tilt and turn windows with nine-point locking, balcony, and entrance doors, as well as lift and slide doors, all with one consistent look. It is available as a full PVC product or it can be combined with premium external aluminum cladding. Schüco offers an extremely wide variety of colors and textures for their PVC products though the addition of high-quality foil finishes. Select from different wood grain foils to give a warm appearance or go with a dark gray power finish to capitalize on the modern design. The frames and vents are fully reinforced with steel profiles, making the CT 70 an incredibly strong, durable, and secure window and door system. The steel profiles, combined with premium hardware, make possible the fabrication of large windows and doors in sizes that would be impossible with other PVC systems. Double and triple glazing are easily implemented, depending on the thermal and sound performance needs of the project.

Schüco Aluminum

Schüco AWS 70 Products

In the aluminium segment, Schüco’s AWS 70 series creates a modern, high-end look with premium materials, while achieving outstanding longevity and durability. The full aluminium construction allows thinner frame widths with even larger window and door elements than the impressive PVC sizes, making this product line more attractive for projects with oversized glass elements. On the AWS 70, Schüco offers its full color spectrum in anodized and powder coated finishes, ensuring that the colors and textures achieve the high-end design and durability requirements of a truly premium product line.
